Attitude is one thing you can change!
The moment an opportunity arises to change something, it usually relates to issues that lie beyond our sphere of influence. As a result, people allow their circumstances and environment to both control and determine the quality of their lives. The truth is, attitude is the most important aspect in life that results in change. It influences every dimension of your life. It influences personal progress, relationships, health and your professional life. Winston Churchill, the famous political leader during World War II said: “Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference”. While this is mostly implicit, attitude has strong leverage in the overall quality of your life. Attitude sets you apart and makes all the difference in your life.

We read about attitude in various places in the Bible and how attitude influences the lives of others. It was attitude that differentiated Joshua and Caleb from the other ten spies, gave their lives significant meaning and ensured Caleb’s inheritance (Num 13-14). Paul commands us to have the same attitude as Jesus (Phil 2:5). It was Jesus’s attitude that caused God to exalt Him to the highest position (Phil 2:9). Paul identifies his attitude as an attitude of faith that enabled him to preach the gospel with power (2Cor 4:13). The attitude that you have is made up of various factors that have been formed in your life and expressed through thoughts, emotions and behaviour. This attitude influences your life in a negative or positive manner. Ultimately, the attitude that you currently have is not a prison cell in which you are held captive. You can change your attitude through cognitive restructuring. It is likely that Paul was referring to this change as the renewing of the mind (Rom 12:1-2).
